Although most of the reactions were against him, a few fans came to the rescue of Kim. One fan remarked, "Hope you won't sympathize with him only after he takes his own life, as you did with Kim Sae Ron!"

During the press conference, Kim denied allegations that he dated Sae Ron while she was still a minor. He insisted, "I'll talk about the biggest issue I never dated the deceased when she was young. We started dating five years ago for about a year or so, well before Queen of Tears was released."
